image locations for wps
jwj:
There seems to be differences in the documentation as to where images should be (or how to specify image paths) between
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/CustomWPS
which says that they are relative to /.rockbox and
http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SimpleGuideToWPSMaking
says that the paths are relative to /.rockbox/wps/WPS-Name .
Which is it, or does it depend on the kind of image tag?

The location of the actual wps pictures are: Lets say you have a wps named "Rockbox-Rocks.wps". Now the location of the images go in ".rockbox/wps/Rockbox-rock/"----image name---.bmp""
I hope you understood this. I am trying to help and have not got a lot of sleep this past week.

I am confused about wps image location and linking as well. we want the potential default theme to include an additional unifont version that uses the same images as the standard version. how can we achieve this? I could make it work on the simulator, but it won't work on the device (iriver h340)
Mikerman:
Please see the prior post. Again, the images for the wps go in a directory that uses the wps name; and that directory goes under .rockbox/wps. As far as I am aware, the images for one wps cannot be linked to another wps; there needs to be a directory for the images using the particular wps name. It's not really a big deal--just duplicate the directory of images for one wps for the second.

On one hand, that settles the question of how image paths are supposed to be specified. Thanks.
But, it seems we have identified two bugs. One is a documentation bug pointed out in the start of this thread: one of the wiki pages says that paths are specified from /.rockbox, which is incorrect. The other is that there is something wrong with using images on iriver H3x0.
