I was just wondering:

Can anyone post a preset equalizer configuration setting that can generate and produce subwoofer-like qualities for my music. I like having a little bass in my music.

Is it feasible for the developers to add a Sub-Woofer feature to rockbox?

Use Sound Settings -->  Bass.

Or, use the Low shelf filter of the equalizer.

If you want some sub without distortion what you do is

in graphical eq set the Q on the low shelf to about 1.
then set the hz between 40 to 60 with most bass music.
after that put your low shelf gain to +10 to +20.
next set the precut to atleast -17bd to max lvl. this helps with distortion alot.
next set your tone controls bass +4 to max.

now with putting precut so high you will loose sound. to offset that up your
treble in tone controls and in graphical eq set the rest of the bands with
Q set to 1 and boost gain to +4.
 this is how i have my headphones set up. in a stereo or car stereo the bass
may be over the top. if so drop bass tone control first then go to lowshelf gain. just remember to get sub sounds you must use the precut or it
will sound real bad.

I would try somewhat different EQ settings...

First off, modifying the low-shelf or high-shelf Q values is not recommended, unless you really know what you're doing (or so I've heard at least).

Then I wouldn't increase the low-shelf gain quite as much, at least start in the 5-10 dB range and instead increase the cut-off frequency a bit, maybe as much as to 2-300 Hz.

Finally, use the pre-cut to avoid distortions, but there's no need to use more pre-cut than to compensate the highest gain value used. Try to avoid non-zero gain on the other bands, as each non-zero band increases the CPU load a bit.

Of course, this depends a lot on the headphones used and personal taste, but the above works well for me.
