e280R won't play with normal sound & missing folders
peedoe:
When I play my .wma audio books (non DRM) via Sansa OS & WMP, they play fine, but when trying to play via Rockbox, they sound like Alvin & the chipmunks on speed. If I start on part 1, it will play a few seconds at warp speed, then jump to next track, etc, etc until it runs through all parts of the book. I tried copying via WMP in both Rhapsody & Plays for Sure mode as well as directly copying the files via Windows Explorer. I can't see any 'Music' on the root drive, only the SD card (which is why I did a direct copy to the SD card so I could use files menu option instead of database thinking that might help, it didn't).
When choosing files, I see this menu:
(which then has an Album, Music, Playlists, & system folder within)
Photo
Record
TMP
Video
battery_bench

I don't see an Album or Music folder on the root drive (even though I can see them fine while connected to my PC (as 2 removeable drives).
What do I have to do be able to correctly play my files and see both 'drives'?
TIA,
Randy

To see all files and folders, go to Settings->General Settings->File View->Show Files and select All. Not sure about the playback problems, perhaps a bug with the WMA decoder?
peedoe:
I figured out the folder issue, they were marked as hidden. Was much easier to see once I had it connected to PC. I installed the most recent (as of now) build just a while ago and the playback issue is still there.
I am desperate to get this working as I am shocked that the Sansa OS doesn't resume playback where it left off when powering off and I am tired of having to fast forward (the standard fast forward is pathetically slow) 30-50 minutes into the parts of my books. It doesn't even let you go to the next track and rewind back into previous track. My previous player, an Express, supported both of these features (I would continue to use my Express, but I gave it to my daughter before I realized the e280R was so crippled).
That's when I read about Rockbox and it has all the features I am looking for (resume, faster fastforward, bookmarking), but I just can't get it to play the audio correctly.
Please help, I am getting fast forward thumb;)
TIA,
Randy

Can you check the sample rate and WMA flavor of the files ? If you don't know how, I recommend foobar2000, loading the file, and then going to properties. Wrong play speed generally means some weirdness with the sample rate.

I've merged your two threads of the same subject, please follow the guidelines and don't start the same topic multiple times even if you don't get a reply for a while. People will read it and if they know answer - by the way, I still had the first one open in my browser and pointed saratoga to it.
