Long text using multiple lines instead of scrolling
(1/1)
dreamlayers:
If a line in a list is longer than what can be displayed on a display, Rockbox horizontally scrolls it. I find this annoying and I wish I could configure Rockbox to wrap it over multiple lines instead. This doesn't seem to be possible now and I don't see any patches for it.
Has anyone considered this before? Was there any option or patch for this in the past? Any particular reason why this would be hard to implement? I'm willing to try to do this myself sometime when I have free time.
JdGordon:
I dont belive there has ever been any interest in this. and no, ts not really feasible.
the list is populated one line at a time and doesnt store the text (it "asks" for the line and dumps it straight onto the lcd), dynamically changing the number of rows per item would screw things up...
linuxstb:
As JdGordon said, this wouldn't work well in lists, apart from the implementation problems, I think it would just look ugly.
However, I do think it could be a nice feature in the WPS, to wrap track information instead of scrolling it, especially on large screens.
perfectdrug:
yeah I would like this in the WPS too. So it wouldn't look that busy. Static text is easier to read than scrolling text.
Strife89:
I'm fine just using a smaller font. :)
