Easiest high (+120 gigs) capacity option for rockbox
« on: December 13, 2007, 08:27:58 PM »
Seeing as how the ipod classic probably won't be ported (for at least a very long time), what are some other options for achieving a high capacity player that runs rockbox firmware?

Can other players be more easily modded? Are their models I just haven't really investigated?

I'm trying to get a good overview of options here.

The only models you will get 120 gb or over with are the old Archos 2.5" disk models.  Most of our targets top out at 80 Gb, with some (gigabeat X, ipod video I think being able to take a 100 gb drive).  The problem is just that the drive interface keeps being changed.

I have upgraded my F40 to a F80 and that was very easy. It took me awhile because i was in a hurry and missed some steps, but it was easy.
