Ipod 5.5g - Problem while switching songs

(1/1)

Sanek:
Hi,

I've noticed a problem while going through the songs in the playlist, if you go through the songs fast enough without allowing for the fade in/out effect to apply, the songs playing and the song titles get offset from each other.

For example: If I select to listen to the "root.m3u" playlist that is located in Rockbox root directory and if I quickly switch to the 10th song by pressing the NEXT button on the ipod, the title of the song shown would be of a previous song that I skipped already, while the song playing would be the correct one.

So if you had songs A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K in your playlist (in that order) and you were to quickly switch to song J, the title of song H or I would be shown on the screen, while song J would be the one playing.

This is the Rockbox build that I'm using: r15885M-071206.

I've looked over the bug reports and searched for a similar problem, but I didn't see anything similar being discussed (granted I might have missed something).

Thank you in advance for any help.

If you were looking over the bug reports, then you know where bug reports belong? Why did you post this here?

I was not sure whether this is a bug or not, so I posted here. I saw the title of this forum
("Discussion of Playback routines, and bugs relating to them. This includes Playlists.") and decided it might be best to post here first.

I would be glad to create a bug report if you like, I was just surprised noone else noticed something like this already.

This may be fairly new with metadata on buffer, so maybe no-one has found it, or reported it yet.  If there is no task on flyspray, please create one with as much detail as possible on how to reproduce.

OK, will do. I will test this in today's build (I'm currently using last week's build) and if the problem exists there, then I will post a new task in the flyspray.

The problem occurs in the current build as well.
