Help with mplayer on video ipod

I have just put rockbox on my video ipod, figured out the jpeg player, but cannot get mpegs to play.

I have created a folder on my pod for mpeg videos, I also converted two ipod format videos i had in the pod that worked to mpeg 2 .avi files using Media Coder and using the rockbox extension. Any ideas??

They should not be .avi files, you're converting wrong.

Thank you for your help, I was using media coder and the extension (rockbox), and selected mpeg 2, it still converted to a avi file. I then set the video tab manually not using the extension applet and it saved in mpeg format and works...

Yeah, I think there's something screwy with the extension for MediaCoder.  I have run into the same issue when converting video for my Gigabeat.
