getting cover art
(1/1)
danny_pav:
I have rockbox installed on a Toshiba Gigabeat F-series.
I want to have cover art.
Please help me get this done and correct any misunderstandings I have.
I think I have to do three things:
1. Put the cover art on the unit
2. Use a theme that supports cover art
3. Have a build that supports cover art
For step 1: I have to have the correct format (bmp with 16 bit color is OK, right?), size (what size should this be?) and location \music\**ARTIST**\**ALBUM**\cover.bmp
For step 2: There are several WPS in the gallery that have the art. This is easy.
For step 3: How do I know if my build supports cover art? Is there a table or is this in the about somewhere? And if my current version doesn't support it, where do I find a version that does?
Thanks,
Dan

Some answers
1) The size depends on the WPS you choose
2 and 3) Cover art is supported in any current build :). However some of the WPS require other patches. It is usually indicated which patches are needed. To find a build that support those patches you can have a look at the Unsupported Builds forum. If you have any problems with any of those builds you MUST ask any questions in the thread related to that build as they are unsupported.
Also note that some of the WPS in the gallery are quite old and not always updated to support the latest changes, so chances are that the WPS does not work right away.

if my art is too small, will it stretch it? show it at original size? not show it?
if my art is too big, will it compress it? clip it? not show it?
