Is it an R series? See, when you formatted, you removed the rockbox folder and the OF.mi4 from the SYSTEM folder. You need to enter recovery mode, restore the original firmware, and re-install rockbox.

I is not an e200 r. I know I could find it elsewhere, but how do you enter recovery mode again?

You turn off the Sansa, turn on hold, hold down the record button, and plug in the USB cable (keep record help until it connects to the PC).

Then, you probably aren't going to recovery mode. Make sure to have hold on and to keep record held down.

OK, go download a copy of the original firmware and place the mi4 file in the 16MB recovery disk.

ok it works but it takes forever to turn on and what really, really puzzles me though is that all of my songs are still there and still play. What is with that?

The format probably failed. Windows has a tendency to do that.

Sorry to re open the thread but I didn't want to make a new one... My sansa is just like now now with the of working fine ;), but I want rockbox back andbecause of the failed format all of the old rockbox files that I need to remove are "locked" on there. When I try to delete the files it says that it cannot complete command because the device has either been disconnected or had stopped responding, but when I try to do somthing else with it, it works fine. when I try to open any of the rockbox folders it says that they are corrupted.   Any ideas?
