Sansa not booting after format (was: Help!!!!)
gigman:
Ok i got it all fixed now... except for rockbox. The sansa firmware works just fine now but I can't get rockbox working. The old files that were there when I formatted are still there but they are corrupted so I can't get them off. Should I format again? I'm kind of scared to because the last time it failed so I don't really wan't to have do mess with it again.
zajacattack:
Yes, to remove files you need to format. I suggest telling the Sansa to format. I believe you go to recovery mode and place a blank file named sansa.fmt to do it. (Just open notepad, click File->Save As..., navigate to your recovery disk, change file type to All Types, and type in sansa.fmt as the name.)
Llorean:
Reformatting should never be the first attempt to solve a problem. If the files are corrupted, you should use some form of disk checking tool to find out of the problem is simply corrupt data, or bad storage.

I switched usb modes (may have been the problem in the first place) and formatted and I am succesfully using rockbox and the of. The only thing different is that when I boot into the of it takes much longer then when I first put rockbox onit. Thanks for al the help ;)
