Rockbox General > Rockbox General Discussion

Just to say thanks!

Rootman:
I just bought a Sansa E260 on Woot - the first MP3 player I've had that can be Rock Boxed.  I really appreciate all the effort that went into making Rockbox happen.

Being totally deaf in my left ear has always made using earbuds impossible - I missed 1/2 the stereo side and I always had to use speakers in stead.  I found the setting in Rockbox to make the output MONO and am thrilled, it opens another dimension that I've never been able to use.

I also enjoy the better database sorting, with he stock Sansa software most of my music ended up in the VARIOUS group, RB sorted them appropriately by artist and titles.

Thanks a lot guys!

PS: The play while charging feature is GREAT!  It is sorely missed in the stock software.

grossaffe:
i think there are cables that you can buy that convert things into mono (for example, i have a stereo composite to mono headphone cable).  none-the-less, that sounds like a great feature for you.

P.Opus:
I have to echo Rootman sentiments.

I see too many people here with a entitlement mentality that seem to only complain and grouse.

I for one am thrilled at the work you have done to improve my Sansa E200R.  The Sansa Rhapsody was a unique challenge, and due to it's realitively low market saturation, was a project you could have ignored.

You could have taken the easy road out and told us Sansa Rhapsody owners to simply convert our Sansa's into a vanilla E200 and then Rockbox it.

But no, you folks took the extra time and effort to discover a way not only to Rockbox the Sansa Rhapsody, but to do so without removing any of the unique features that make the Sansa Rhapsody so tightly integrated with the Rhapsody Music service.

Micro SDHC support, a sleep timer, fast database update, quick boot times, custom themes, games, etc.  The advantages to Rockbox are endless, and it's all because of your tireless efforts.

You guys may do all this work out of "fun" and for the "joy" of seeing if it can be done.  However, the vast number of players that you have already ported over to is overwhelming.

I am making a small donation to you guys for your continued work and success.  It is but a small token of my gratitude.  I hope you accept it with my humblest thanks, and wish you and your families the best of times during this holiday season.

Thank you again, for a gift that just keeps on giving.

William Thomas.
