Loss of configuration

(1/2) > >>

LAfant:
I just have a quick question, as I want to know what's the cause of my problem.

Yesterday I have updated to the recent build (h120) and after that every time I restared my settings (e.g. Theme settings) were set back to the orignal values. This occured about 5 or 6 times until my settings remained after restarting.
Does anybody have a clue what the reason for this is?

Thanks in advance.

LAfant:
I'm still having the same problem, sometimes the settings are saved and remain, and sometimes they get lost. Also I experienced some problems with mp3 tags not being displayed correctly and sometimes my wps showed the wrong file format, which never happened before.

LaFant - this happened to me some weeks ago, and in the end, I fixed it by carefully re-installing the latest build.

I am pretty sure what happened to me was my own lack of care in installing the build, and perhaps some files were left behind from the previous build. I had exactly the same symptoms as you: failure to save settings.

I always go through each folder under .rockbox now when installing new builds, and delete what's already there, if applicable.

Folders I commonly don't have to touch are Themes, WPS and Fonts, which are pretty constant across builds.

I hope this helps.

Jason

I just overwrote the .rockbox folder, as I always did. Never experienced such problems before.
I just checked, problem still appears. When I come back from work I will completely remove the directory and install again. Still strange somehow I thing.
