Yeah, the suggestion that there be a "Stable Release" to an extent requires that the build be "Finished" first. The iPod build is still working toward that point, the USB stack being a feature necessary for "finishedness" in a way (with the goal of Rockbox being a replacement firmware, it shouldn't be dependent on any bits of the original firmware, if it's really to be a full "release" state).

Of course, this is a philosophical point, but if we're talking "Release" then we may as well be honest: Rockbox on iPod isn't "done" yet. Battery life issues, performance issues, no USB mode of its own.
