"Rockbox Media Player" Detected in Windows XP Hardware Wizard, Can't Access Play

Spoonman:
sry ;-) but i´m austrian and scool is decades ago...

Llorean:
Yes, but it's easy to use real words like "sorry" and "you" instead of "sry" and "u", especially since the forum guidelines say you must, and thus it's implicit that you'll be asked to leave if you refuse to follow them.

kuehly:
Anyway...

Has anyone a copy of the rockbox version before the half-implemented USB stack came in? For an iPod nano 2nd gen? Please?

Rockbox is really great. But it's totally annoying to have to follow some bizarre procedure with a lot of button fiddling to put some files on the ipod! The old behaviour (rebooting to apple's disk mode) was probably not brilliant, but it worked perfectly for me.

Btw: My ipod seems to simply hang up when I plug it in. Black screen, needs revival using Menu+Select.

Oh, and using the old-fashioned "stable version" and "developer version" paradigm works for most other open source projects, so it can't be that bad.

(I hope I'm not thrown out after my first post  ::) )

AlexP:
Rockbox does not run on the nano 2nd gen.

I don't believe that has changed at all. Rebooting to disk mode is still the only way to transfer files...
