Greyscale album art love
« on: December 08, 2007, 11:45:24 PM »
For those of you who using greyscale targets who feel left out of the album art loop, here's a screen shot of my new H1X0/iPod 1G 2G 4G WPS.  Any suggestions before I post it on the wiki?  And yes, I do realize that most album art will look like crap at 72x72 and in greyscale, but I like it anyway.

I was feeling left out too. My attempt at a greyscale Album Art WPS is here (although mine uses 64x64 album art):

Thank you to both of you!  I had started playing with an album art WPS  (iRiver iHP-140 here) but got side-tracked when my computer was replaced, and was hoping that others were, too.  It would be great to see some further attempts as well!

One thought I had, given screen "quality" issues with the iRiver 1xx players, was alternating screens:  a basic word informational screen for a certain amount of time (in other words, what we typically have now), followed by album art for a period of time that fills the screen.

I've posted this WPS to the wiki by the name "AA_Grey".  An iRiver H3x0 version is coming as well.
As for your suggestion, it's not currently possible and I would actually prefer to just have the album art be static and use alternating sublines for track information if you can't fit it all on the screen at once.
