iPod Buttons partially work will they work with rockbox or do I need to spend 90
« on: December 08, 2007, 02:27:25 PM »
I have the 1st gen iPod NANO.
It still technically works,
BUT
1. The buttons have quit. I use an inline remote for when I don't have it plugged into my car.
If it shuts off, I can press one of the buttons to turn it back on. I can also hold the menu and select buttons to reset it,  but they don't function anywhere else.
If I install rockbox, will that fix my problem, or will it make things worse.
2. If I install rockbox will the dedicated iPod cable hooked up to my stereo still work.

Thank you for any and all help. Even a no will be good because it will keep me from getting into a major pickle.

Rockbox will not work without your buttons.

They still work for reseting and so forth, although I can't get it to go into disk mode.
Do you know of any way to fix the buttons, or a forum that would?

PLEASE amend your topic to give the subject matter; otherwise, you waste others' time. Thanks.
