<Untagged> ? Help ?
« on: December 06, 2007, 04:40:02 PM »
I have a decent amount of music, and I tried adding them all at once through iTunes. When I go to Database > Track >, maybe the first 1/5 say 'Untagged' with "< >" around it but will still play? Anyway to fix this? Thank you.

(Latest Rockbox build, iPod Nano 1st Gen.)

Yes.  Fix the tags with a tagging program.

They are showing up as < untagged > (no spaces) because there is no ID3 tag present for whatever you are filtering for in the Database (e.g. Artist, Album, etc.).  You need to add this information to the file if you want it to show up properly in the database.  Just google: There are plenty of programs out there that will allow you to edit ID3 tags.

Try "The Godfather".  Very powerful and many options as a tag and filename editor, although not as intuitive as I would like.

MP3 Tag is the one that I saw first on Google so I'm using that. Seems to be working fine now.
