iPod 5.5 - Want to reduce options in main menu/database menu

I want to have just the basic Database, and Settings available on the main screen, and only Artist and Album available in the Database screen.  

What do I have to edit to reduce the options?

Also can this be incorporated into a .cfg file for live switching to say a Car Mode where there are very limited options.

You cannot edit the main menu without compiling a customized build.

You can edit the database by modifying the tagnavi files in the .rockbox folder.

And no, it can't be incorporated into a .cfg file.

Gah looks like I have a lot of work to do then.    

I wish someone would make a bootloader that could handle multiple RockBox options such as the full build and however many specialised builds you need.

If you have multiple builds then can't you just rolo into the one you like? Maintaining the different plugin versions may be difficult/impossible, but when I had my x5 I and before NSF playback was incorporated into the main source I would have a daily build that I'd always boot into and then a custom build patched with NSF playback capability that I'd rolo when desired.

I believe that RoLo is only available on certain targets, but the Wiki page is not clear...

Ah, I've been using it on various Archos targets and the x5 so I automagically assumed that it was in all builds. Whoops!
