might be the best place for this question.

I have a Gigabeat S30. The screen is broken and I've since taken up another media player. However now I want a new use out of the components. Is it possible to keep the gigabeat in tact, and just use it as a portable hard drive?
I need it to be partitioned as just one FAT32, and I'm not sure but I believe my process would be removing the firmware first? I dunno I'm somewhat lost, any help?
bascule:
No, this is not the place. This forum is specifically for help with the Rockbox replacement firmware application.
What you want to do, however, should be entirely possible. Try a more general forum for Gigabeat devices (sorry, I don't know one off the top of my head...)
GodEater:
Actually no it isn't possible - given the Gigabeat S is an MTP only device...
bascule:
Whoops! I humbly stand corrected and bow down before the mighty DeityMuncher :-[
