Ipod + Rockbox + External Ipod speakers
« on: December 04, 2007, 02:47:57 PM »
First i would like to say how much i love rockbox.
I own an ipod 80Go and justed bought Logitech Pure-Fi speakers.
It works quite good with it. The sound is really good using the line-out, the sound is controled by the speakers so even if the remote cant work i can control my ipod.

Yet there is two things i am wondering about :

- I selected in the settings the pause when unplugging headphones features but doesnt do anything with the line-out. Is it supposed to work with the line-out?
If not would such a feature be doable?

- The other thing is about the difference there is between my ipod plugged on the speakers dock being charged and my ipod pluggedon my speakers dock not being charged. I chose to let the LCD on when the ipod is plugged in  but it only works when my skeapers are charging which means that for rockbox my ipod is plugged in only when the speakers are charging. Is this a normal behaviour? If so is it possible to have some explanations on what s happening?

Thanks

1) The pause when headphones are unplugged setting only works with the headphone jack.  Rockbox detects the change in resistance between open circuit (no headphones) and the load presented by headphones and acts accordingly.

2) "Plugged" means charging in this context.  If the iPod is not attached to a proper voltage source then it is not considered to be plugged.  I would assume that your speakers do not charge the iPod unless they are being powered themselves.
