e270 Right or select don't work
« on: December 03, 2007, 04:31:46 PM »
I have installed rockbox on my Sansa e270 both using manual and automatic installation . I have tryed version r15871, r15868, r15865 and the Right or select don't work. I can't do anything except  use the scrool up wheele and hold button. Scroll up wheele does work very good :).  Everything works on the original firmware. Any ideas what is wrong?

It sounds to me like you're looking for the button in the middle of the wheel, AKA the select button.

Thanks for the tips. But sorry the select button does not work in rockbox, but does work very perfectly in native firmware.

Then I don't really know what to tell you.  Could you be more specific about what's not working?  Do you mean to say that you get stuck on the main menu and can't "select" anything?  If you can't even do that then what use is the right button?  I'm confused.

Thanks for trying to help me :)

I can "select" every thing on the menu like Files, Database, Resume, playback, settings, recording, playlist, plugins and system with the scrool wheel. But if I want to get into the menu "Settings" eg. I would normaly use select button on that menu, but nothing happens if I hit the select button. The only thing I can du is up and down the main menu, but nothing else. I want to play som music or change the theme.

Wow.  I really don't know what could be causing that.  Have you tried pressing all of the buttons individually to see if any of them cause a reaction from the player?  I'd suggest that you had a hardware defect but you said earlier that everything is fine in the original firmware, so... The only things I can think of suggesting are reading the manual to make sure you're pressing the proper buttons or to do a fresh install of the current build and cross your fingers.
