Help with iPod 30GB, iPodpatcher program saying "iPod Not Found"

Hi, I used an automated installation, read all the instructions and did everything they said and put my iPod in disk mode and hooked it up to the computer. I'm at the point now where I need to press "i" and then enter in the iPodpatcher program. When I open the iPodpatcher, it gives the message

[INFO]  Scanning disk devices...
[ERR]    No iPods found, aborting
[ERR]    Please connect your iPod and ensure it is in disk mode
[ERR]    Please refer to the Rockbox manual if you continue to have problems.

Press ENTER to exit ipodpatcher :

The thing is, as I said before, I already hooked my iPod up. I refered back to the manual and there was nothing relevant. could you give me a hand?

Restore your iPod in iTunes, you probably have a faulty firmware. The same thing happened to my friend's 80 gb. Then, run the ipodpatcher program.
