Ignore "The" New Pornographers

i'm using the ipod 5g rockbox, and was wondering about how to ignore THE in band names.
i know theres a patch, but the file seems to have been removed for it, and i'm not sure as to how to go about installing the patch anyway.
could someone possibly re-upload that patch, and maybe give some instruction as to how to use it?

That patch has been rejected therefore you cannot ask about it/discuss it in the official rockbox forums.  For info on that you need to ask in the appropriate unofficial build thread, like for ex: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=12742.0

I have absolutely no idea.

The rockbox developers and maintainers have every right to dictate as they see fit; it's their project, and their website.

Then again, it's GPL; you can write your own patch (or use what someone else wrote), and create your own project ("Knowritebox," anyone?), if you'd like. In fact, you can continue to release every time the official rockbox if you'd like, always taking their latest code and modifying it to remove the word "The," if you'd like.

The feature to control how your songs are sorted has not been rejected. One particular implementation has, but the concept hasn't. Heck, there's even a patch in the tracker that likely would be accepted if only someone would contribute some time to finish it. Just curious here, why was the previous patch rejected?

Read the thread I linked earlier for the history. Basically it wasn't flexible enough for multiple languages and uses.
