I posted FS#10245 to try to make changing clocking schemes easier.  You can make all your changes in about a 5 line space.  Easier for me does not necessarily mean easier for you though, your mileage may vary.

EDIT:  @funman,kugel

Would you take a look at FS#10254 and tell me your thoughts!

i have a sansa 2.0gig running the latest rockbox with a sandisk 8gb micro sdhc.. i have it boot to the sansa firmware ..The problem I am having is if I bootup with the sd card in the unit the unit locks and I have to remove the battery . I can only boot if the sd card is not in , I can use the player just fine and it reads all the songs on the sd card .. i just can't start the unit with the card in .. is this normal ? is there a fix  for this ?

Thanks Bud....

I have a sansa clip V1 2GB, without radio chip. I try to run Rockbox SVN 21127 on it,
but there is only a black screen. In case of USB connection I can see for a short time the Rockbox menu and then the USB symbol (very weak). Same result with earlier SVN.
The clip is quite old. I bought it in Germany in Oct 2007.
Thanks for your work on Rockbox. My contribution can only be trying out versions and reporting bugs.

I believe this is a known bug with certain 8GB microsd cards.  I think it's related to timing issues in the sd card driver if I recall correctly.  You should not need to remove your battery though.  You should always be able to shut down your player by holding the power button down for 10 seconds.  Then pop the card out, reboot rockbox, and once rockbox boots up reinsert the card and it should work normally.

If you can change the boot order then you're running a build I'm not familiar with as Rockbox should boot unless you hold the |<< (left) while turning the player on which then boots the OF.  I'm assuming an e200V2 since you can remove the battery but the clip and fuze use the same key.

Can you try r21087 and see if your screen works?
The current revision works fine on my Clip.
Also as far as i know all Clips should have radio chips (but disabled by the OF for some), but you will be able to confirm when you got rockbox booting.

Is their any caution for me putting the latest SVN on my M200V4 for testing out bugs or is M200V4 stable enough?

Rockbox for the Sansa AMS is not released and you will get no support here.

This thread is here for development only, I believe we will call for testers when we have something stable.

For status and warnings, just read the SansaAMS wiki page.

Did you update both rockbox build & bootloader? Can you see the bootloader screen? Does the Clip work with the OF?

I received my e200v2.  If anyone wants power measurements taken, please let me know.  I can easily measure current in real time using a DMM for any rockbox patch by removing the battery and using a power supply.

I updated both build and bootloader. I cannot see the bootloader screen. OF works fine.
I used bootloader-clip.sansa for making the bootloader with mkamsboot. Is the file correct?

Can't resist a new toy and I'm a visual type-o- guy so just to show what's possible once we figure this darned mmu thing out I got some screen shots to show you.  Its running on 192/32/32 with mmu and both caches enabled, and as you can see it's only boosting 10% of the time and averaging a bit more than 48MHz while playing an mp3 file.  You can see a bit of corruption in the screen but funman's last patch corrects this.  Playback with cached memory is still not working reliably for me though.  One interesting thing I have found also is that for some reason if I use a plugin that has playback controls to start playback I get a much higher chance of music playing for more than 4-5 minutes.  Another thing is that as long as I don't attempt to play music, Rockbox runs very well.  I can play games all day long and when I hold the power button down to power off it has a normal shutdown.  Once I play music on it though I end up having to hold the power button for 10 secs to force it to turn off.  I was wondering if the fact that things run better when started from a plugin point to a buffer conflict with the plugin & audio buffers?

Yes it's the correct file (Clip bootloader).

You should try earlier revisions (bissecting) until you get display working, or perhaps tweak the delays in firmware/target/arm/as3525/sansa-clip/lcd-ssd1303.c

@FlynDice:
The plugin & audio buffers are separated (see app.lds), so I suspect a difference in timings.
Perhaps we should look again at the i2sout registers, there is some bits we don't use and the OF does.

@All:
I tagged a 1.0 release of mkamsboot (the tool to patch OF files) and you can get binaries at http://download.rockbox.org/bootloader/sandisk-sansa/mkamsboot-1.0/ (OSX binaries will come in a near future)

With recent revisions the radio of my e200 isn't working anymore.
If I switch to radio mode it shows only the status bar on top and freezes then.
After some investigation it seems that rev 21088 is messing something up.
