The slow shutdown appears to have been introduced with r25989, not the bootloader.

should be fixed in r26003, thanks

The slow shutdown appears to have been introduced with r25989, not the bootloader.  If you have an older revision, you can switch back to that until this problem gets resolved.

edit: This problem is causing settings not to be saved on shutdown, which will cause playback resume issues that have been noted.

Thanks for pointing that out. I've installed an archived build and now things are ok once again.

I was under the impression that uSD was working pretty well until talking to funman in irc today.  Anyone else having problems you can describe for me?

Which revision is causing the problem? I'm using r25938M-100514 right now and it works just fine. I was using r25983-100513 for a bit and that works fine. Except I noticed the volume was a bit lower than r25938M-100514.

Also, how do I stop the list from jumping from the top to the bottom when I scroll through the playlist? It works fine if I move the scrollwheel slowly. If I start scrolling sharply, or speed up scrolling too quick it will jump. It does get a bit annoying after a while.

Well, there's the issue with buttonlight flickering when accessing uSD, but it's not a big deal (FuzeV2 8GB + 8GB uSD). Can be reproduced by selecting microSD in the File Browser: the buttonlight turns off immediately before showing the root directory. Any other button press turns it on again. Probably something when selecting the card, since subsequent accesses (browsing other folders) don't exhibit this behaviour.

I just tried inserting/removing a couple of times the 2 µSD cards I have on fuzev2/clip+, as well as turning on the devices with the card inserted.

I couldn't reproduce any problem, I'll try to use the cards more extensively and report if I still see a problem.

I kind of like the button light flickering during uSD access. Not sure what effect it has on battery life though. Maybe it could become an option to have it on/off? The wheel light option has no effect on it by the way.

FM radio and voicing
« Reply #1777 on: May 14, 2010, 05:50:02 PM »
Hi all,
I have clip plus and testing with voicing (voiced menus and spelled filenames). Voicing works everywhere except the situation when is the radio turned on. Is there some hardware limitation specifically on clip plus (voicing with enabled radio works e.g. on fuze v1) or is it a bug?
Btw many many thanks for your great work.

It's a bug, fixed in r26045

BTW if you see ATA error -18 with builds >= 26028 please check the filesystem with chkdsk.exe / fsck before reporting it

I got white screens of death with panics, and got -18 errors after r26028. fsck didn't help at all, I had to format the fuze and restore all the files again not to get this which took ages. I suppose it has to be done some time... Is r26028 extremely sensitive or something :P?

26050 should fix the panic -18 error.

Got more info on the button wheel flashing. It doesn't flash when it is supposed to be on. It flashes when after it is switched off automatically, but it won't flash while in hold. This is observed while updating the database with songs from µSD.

Does anyone else notice hissing in their Rockboxed C200v2 with sensitive headphones? It's always present, even during playback. The original firmware C200v2 doesn't hiss, and neither did the C200v1 OF or Rockboxed.

I'm definitely having problems with uSD. I got a hang on boot with 26026. With 26064, it boots all the way, but crashes when I try to navigate in the uSD. This happened multiple times. This is, again, on an 8GB Fuze v2 with an 8GB Class 4 Kingston uSD.

UPDATE: I'm not quite sure whether this is actually a Rockbox problem. The Sansa firmware also recently froze up on boot, and removing the SD let it complete. I've also successfully booted Rockbox and managed to navigate through and play songs without a crash (at least for a few minutes now). Sorry for the knee-jerk alarm-sounding ;)
