Trying to put 'rbutilqt-1.0.3pre' on my ipod

I'm sorry for the newbie questions folks but I simply cannot get this work.

I'm sitting here with my Ipod 4th Generation in 'Disk Mode'.

Its connected via the USB cable and its being recognized as Drive: F

I've successfully unzipped the files and I'm simply trying to drag and drop them into the Ipod so I can run the Rock Box installation.

I'm getting this error message:

Cannot Copy rbutil_de: Cannot find the specified file
Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.


Can anyone answer this for me.

I got this Ipod from a friend and the only reason I've gotten it is because I want to load RockBox. I normally use Iriver products so I'm totally unfamiliar with the Ipod shtick.

I suspect that this Ipod simply doesn't allow files to be placed on it.

You don't need to put RBUtil on your iPod. That's the installation utility.

Run it from your PC with your iPod still in Disk Mode.

While that's true, I find it convenient to keep it on my player so that I can run it from any compatible box when connected.

Are you able to copy the file to a location other than the iPod?  It sounds like the OS doesn't see the source file.  Could it be that you got a corrupt download?
