Music not playing, I'm able to FFW, etc, but it won't play
« on: November 27, 2007, 09:23:35 PM »
I'm completely new to Rockbox and I'm very confused right now.

First, Doom didn't work. Pff, figures, the best thing for rockbox doesn't work...Oh well. I can still play music, right?

I could at first, but now, it's like, stuck on pause, and even rebooting it does nothing. It was able to play music at first but now, nothing comes out of my earphones, and it's stuck at 0:00 in the song, it's NOT on pause, but it's acting as if it is!

I've been playing with the volume too... Nothings working...

Edit: I uninstalled rockbox. If you guys tell me how I can fix that I might re-install it, but no doom AND no music? Forget it lol.

What mp3 player?

Regardless, if nothing is working, it sounds like the install didn't work.

Oh sorry, forgot that Rockbox was so multicultural  ;D

I'm using a 5.5G video iPod.

You need to install doom manually, reading the manual helps.

What format of music are you attempting to play? If it's a song purchased from iTunes it may not be playing due to DRM.

No, it was playing before, perfectly fine.

And now the songs won't start, they're stuck at 0:00.

Okay, but what format is that song? MP3, Ogg, etc?

Also, have you tried a newer build? If you install a new build, make sure you extract the entire zip file on to your iPod overwriting any files that were already there.

Mp3.

It worked as soon as I installed it. About 5 minutes later it just stopped. Is there some kind of option that I have turned on that makes songs not start? I tried pressing play/pause many times, I assure you, it's not on pause.

Well, no, I don't think there's an option that would stop you from playing music. You could try resetting your settings. You can do this by going to the main menu, then Manage Settings then selecting Reset Settings.

Have you tried to play other files? Did you try an newer build?

Resetting the settings worked.

Thank you.
