Voice + FM Record Time hard coded?

I have an e260 and an e280. The maximum record time for both devices is 4 hours, 20 minutes, 25 seconds in voice mode and half that in FM record mode.

The firmware is up to date on both models and the available free memory is maximum.

SanDisk website shows longer record times as well as the manual.

I require longer record time. I am certain the time is hard coded in the current firmware.

Does anyone have previous released firmware and necessary install software?
