Problem turning on iPod 5g 30GB after a manual shut down...
(1/1)
Astorga:
it's a bit hard to explain, but it's like this:
sometimes, when i turn off my iPod manually and try to turn it on again after a time (about 12 hours after, for example), it shows the "no battery" image for 0.1 second and stop response, so i need to do a reset to make it work again
PS.: every time that it happens, the battery is NOT empty
GodEater:
This is a known bug in Apple's flash based firmware. There's nothing Rockbox can do about it.
The only way round it we know of is to reset the iPod, and try turning it on again.
Astorga:
so... the only solution is wait to a new Apple iPod firmware to fix it, right?
thanks for the help ^^
GodEater:
Don't hold your breath - the bug has existed in all versions of the ipod firmware as far as I know.
I would imagine it's a low priority fix for Apple since the bug only occurs when the Apple is powered on from being completely off. Most of the time iPods running Apple's own firmware don't power off - they sleep - and the bug doesn't trigger when resuming from sleep.
