Sansa E200 series and new USB stack.

(1/1)

P.Opus:
Is anyone else having issues with the new USB stack implementation recently committed with the Sansa E200 and E200R series?

About 50% of the time the screen fades to white and just locks up the whole OS.  The other time, it seems to plug in fine and the Rockbox info screen shows that the unit is charging, but after a several hour charge, it did not seem to charge properly.  (It seems the charging rate doesn't change to the higher draw figure).

Do you have to plug the cable to the Sansa first and then plug into the USB port?  My experience above was with connecting the cable to the Sansa after the cable is already in an existing powered usb port.

Am I doing something wrong?  For now I'm going to just plug the unit in with the power off and do the charging with the OF, but I just wanted to know if I was messing something up, or does the new USB drivers not play too nice with the Sansa hardware?

Thanks in advance.

OOPS:  Just checked flyspray,  It's listed as bug 8221 so I guess it is known.  I'll put this in flyspray where it belongs....

phisher:
i haven't updated to the new firmware yet but i think i can answer one of your questions.

no i dont think it matters which way you plug it in. unless the sansa has a sensor in it which im not aware of which would tell it if it has a cable in it but that would be pointless.

when the Mbuild gets updated with USB stack support i will check it out.
