cannot charge nano

(1/2) > >>

omron:
My nano with rockbox has completely drained it's battery, and now I cannot charge it because it looks dead.
I remember that some months ago I was able to bypass this problem holding down a key while inserting the charger plug.( I got this info in this forum)
Was it Menu or Play or what else?
thank you and go on with this marvellous project which is Rokbox

Febs:
1.  Let the player charge for a while (even if it does not appear to be charging).

2.  Turn the hold switch on and then off again.

3.  Press and hold Menu + Select simultaneously until the player reboots.

omron:
thank you for the answer
unfortunately this has no effect, but I am sure there was a trick like pushing a key while plugging in the cord, but i can't remember which one....

Llorean:
If your player can't turn on, what good will holding a key do? There's no software running to recognize it. And there is no key combination.

Do what Febs said, with "a while" meaning "several hours, at a minimum." If it doesn't work, try it again. As long as your iPod isn't damaged for some reason, it'll work eventually.

omron:
I waited 12 hours without recharging, then I tried again, and magically it started charging again.
But it was going in and out of rockbox, and it couldn't charge. So I had to use the trick of pushing play while connecting the power plug, and it stopped that behaviour going to charge smoothly.
