Sansa e250r rhapsody freezing on usb connect, solution: reformat.
rhk0327:
My player started freezing when plugged in to computer. I could not explore it. After I disconnected via safemode, the player would stay frozen, stuck with the connected sign.
A. Reformat player (credit: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11233)
1. verify in “rhapsody modeâ€: turn on, settings>mode>rhapsody. Turn off player
2. enter recovery mode. if you don’t know how to, you just need to put the hold switch on so you see orange, hold down the record button and turn the player on. keep holding the record button until you see:
Welcome to recovery mode
Please connect USB cable
plug your player in
open notepad, and save a blank text document named "sansa.fmt" and drag that into the 16MB recovery mode thing
3. Safely remove hardware (windows taskbar) player. Let player reboot. Error message should come up since no firmware.
B. install sansa firmware
4. enter recovery mode again. This time drag the below file onto 16MB recovery mode thing.
Downloaded sansa firmware here under manual update
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449
5. Safely remove again. Now it should boot in to sansa firmware. Connect to computer to verify that you can recognize player.
C. install rockbox again (optional)

So I have an R player and I want to make it a non R player. Could I remove the R firmware and just install the normal firmware from there?
rhk0327:
i do not know, I would love to do this since I don't care about rhapsody at all.

Yes, you can. You then need to:
1 - go manufacture mode
2 - use e200tool recover to load the vanilla e200 BL.rom and enter recovery mode
3 - in recovery, put the vanilla BL.rom and the vanilla e200 mi4 file on the recovery disk

So what is the e200tool recover? Sorry if I sound noobish. I'm just really desperate to get Rhapsody off my player.
