Is there a way to keep the Sansa firmware from refreshing when trying to charge?

My Sansa 280e alternates between immediately starting to re-charge and a long 6 minute database refresh every other time I connect the unit to my USB port. Is there anyway to allow the Sansa to skip the database refresh process and simply start the recharge process immediately? I know this isn't really a Rockbox related question, but I'm not sure where to ask. I really wish Rockbox would could make it possible to recharge the Sansa through the Rockbox firmware, if it was possible, I'd like to do away with the Sansa's firmware altogether. I hate it that much!

Thanks Febs!

Also, the latest bootloader inhibits the database refresh if the USB is plugged in with the unit turned off.

i.e., it boots into the Sansa firmware, but with no refresh. Doesn't always work on my Sansa, though :(

I used the original Windows bootloader method for the Sansa e200R series (the very first method to use Windows only to boot Rockbox - before they made it easier).  Does this mean I must uninstall the bootloader and reinstall the bootloader to benefit fom the inhibited database upload?  If so, do I need to uninstall my daily build also?  Thanks in advance.
