How do I actully install Rockbox on my ipod? What are the thing's I need in order to run it? I have a Ipod Video Gen 5.5 as stated.

Have you tried searching the forums for an answer? Also, are you certain your iPod is a Video and not a Classic?

These are forums, not a chat channel.  If you want a faster response, try the IRC channel.

You could help yourself get a response by using a descriptive thread title (which our posting guidelines actually require) and providing additional information.  For example, what have you done in Rockbox Utility other than pressing "Complete installation"?  Did you actually follow the instructions in the "Automated installation" section of the manual that Llorean pointed you to?

I did follow them. I managed to install Rockbox from the "Installation" section in Rockbox Utility. But don't I need to install the bootloader in order for it to all work. I can't install bootloader eithier though because it says "No Ipods Found".

These forums are so strict. I've never been on a forum that's so strict..

These forums are strict because when people don't follow the rules, you get 400 posts that just say "Help" as the subject, and nobody who's searching for information can guess from the subject what the topic is about, and nobody who's willing to give help can guess from the subject whether it's anything they can help with.

The whole point of all the rules is to keep the forum organized. Many forums are social, or don't have a strong reason to stay organized, and so aren't as strict. As you saw while signing up, it said in bold letters that the rules were strictly enforced here. It was not lying.

Yea I ended up installing it then deleting it because it isn't that great.. I can't see video or I don't have the option to "Screen Lock" my ipod video.

Videos need to be converted - see PluginMpegplayer wiki page, but on the ipod video are best in the original firmware - you know you can dual boot right?

What is screen lock?
