mpegplayer resizing?

is there a way to have mpegplayer resize the video so it all fits on my ipod nano's screen? right now only a small portion of the video shows up, and the rest is out of view

You'll probably want to know, so here's why mpegplayer can't resize videos.

Scaling a video is very hard on the CPU, much harder than decoding. So if you can scale it beforehand, it would be the natural solution to the problem.
