Need assistance with mini 2G + CompactFlash
Jack Of Clubs:
I recently upgraded my 2g mini from the 4gb minidrive to a 16gb CompactFlash card. The installation was no sweat, and the Apple firmware immediately worked once I restored it to the Apple factory defaults.
However, I am unable to run Rockbox. I put the .rockbox directory where it belongs and ran ipodpatcher, which appeared to work. When the iPod comes on, it displays the Apple logo and turns on the backlight, then sits for about a minute, then kicks me to this message:
Rockbox boot loader
Version: 2.0
IPOD version: 0x0007000
ATA: -80
No partition found
Hold MENU+SELECT to
reboot then SELECT+PLAY
for disk mode
I've tried completely resetting the iPod and reinstalling Rockbox, to no avail. I found another thread about the CF mod, but it didn't help me any. Does anyone know what I can do to get Rockbox working again?
Chronon:
You might also want to check the wiki page on it: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/MiniCF.
Did you apply the patch from that page?
Jack Of Clubs:
Do I have to get the source and compile it to add the patch, or is there a simpler way?
Chronon:
I notice that there's a build for the 1g mini iPod in the Unsupported Builds forum. Unfortunately, I don't see one for the 2nd generation mini that you mentioned you are using. It looks like the best way is to patch the source and compile it yourself.
Jack Of Clubs:
OK, thanks. Once I figure out what I'm doing, I'll give it a try and post the results.
