battery level, volume doesn't display
« on: November 20, 2007, 08:28:06 PM »
OK, I'm totally new to Rockbox. I have a Sansa e260 and just downloaded and installed Rockbox. It comes up fine, plays music, etc. So I installed the "Big Art" theme. But there is no cover art, even though I have cover art embedded in my mp3s. OK I guess I can live without that. Then I look at the sample screen on rockbox-themes.org from where I got the theme and it shows a battery level and volume icon. But on my Sansa - nothing.

I've tried other themes - same thing.

I can live without album art, but I'd really like to know my battery charge. So what did I do wrong? I unzipped the theme zip file into my Sansa and went into themes and selected it. Even rebooted the Sansa a few times. No go.

If I do:
Setting -> General Settings -> Display -> Status/Scrollbar -> Status Bar
Setting -> General Settings -> Display -> Status/Scrollbar -> Volume Display
Setting -> General Settings -> Display -> Status/Scrollbar -> Battery Display

I just get a basic looking black and white battery on the top line. Not the pretty one as displayed in the theme page. It's like it can't find the theme icons.

What is wrong?

1-  Embedded album art is not supported.

2-  That theme (from the currently unofficial site rockbox-themes.org) is woefully out of date, and needs fixed to work with current stock Rockbox.  If you noticed on the download page - it is stated that you need a custom build to use the theme.
