Pitily you can't change the font in every screen yet. Things like the standard virtual keyboard and the standard recording screen use the so-called system font which is buillt-in and small on most displays. The goal is to make every screen use the settable font, so that users won't see it under normal circumstances but can't say when this will happen.

I think for the virtual keyboard which you use for typing the name of a file to save for example, there currently is a solution by setting up a custom keyboard which uses your chosen font. Read more about it in the LoadableKeyboardLayouts wiki page; all I know is that this exists as I don't use it myself.

Thank you pixelma.  I'll take a look at the wiki.

You folks have done a great job with the Rockbox project.  Not many pieces of software even acknowledge that a visually impaired person may be using it.  The .talk / voice options are great but for people like myself a large font option is best.

This is the theme I am working on.  It uses the ter-u32b.fnt font.

The Loadable Keyboard option works great.
This is a QWERTY style keyboard using the ter-u32b.fnt font.  It requires scrolling to a second screen to see all characters but that is no problem.

catman25; I have completed this HiVis theme.  I also have an inverted version, black on yellow.

If you would like a copy let me know.  I could also change the colors if you think something different would work better for your son.

Here is the While Playing Screen layout.
- Clock in the top right.
- Song title or file name it the info is not in the song.
- Artist
- Play/Pause/FF/Rew/Stop   Song progress bar
- Countdown / Song length
- Next song / Artist alternating
- Volume indicator

I am also using the keyboard from my previous post.
