Can Rockbox improve the FM recording quality of the Sansa e280?

I was wondering. The FM recording quality of the Sansa e280 isn't nearly as good as the original FM source when using the Sansa's firmware. Is this a hardware issue with the Sansa, or can the Rockbox codecs improve on the FM recordability, allowing the recordings to sound as good as the original source? Thanks for the info.
