My 4th gen grayscale ipod is having trouble ever since installing rockbox. Is the following a typical case, with a definite diagnosis of the problem?
The ipod, when it reaches full charge, remains frozen, displaying the Apple screen until it runs out of power. This happens when the ipod is "off"; I do not know whether it happens when the ipod is on (playing for 3 hours until it reaches full power capacity), though I will try it right now. Soft reset (toggle hold then pressing menu and select simultaneously) does not get the ipod out of the frozen, back-lit apple-icon image.
Currently, I can only get my ipod to work by not letting it charge to full capacity, which means making sure it is not powered for more than an hour at a time. I have not tried changing the rockbox's power settings to see if this changes things. Which of the power settings would you recommend I change, and to what? If "Battery capacity", what number should I change it to? Would perhaps changing the "Max files in Dir Browser" solve it? I wouldn't think so...
Is there a way, with the Rockbox firmware, to prevent my ipod from reaching full charge?
