Disabling resume on startup
« on: November 20, 2007, 08:42:02 PM »
Hi:

I just installed the latest build for the Gigabeat and somehow my database has become corrupted. My player is set to resume so it finds the last song loaded and reports that there's no codec and freezes.

How can I boot the player into safe mode as it were, disabling resume to get out of the loop and rebuild my database.

I've search the manual and the forums with no luck.

Thanks,

Tom

Edit your config.cfg file.  (Or just delete it entirely, which will cause Rockbox to load its default settings when you next boot.)

Note: You can also reset all settings to their default values by turning off the player, and turning it back on with the A button on.

Hi:

Thanks much for both replies. I knew there was a power/key combination that would reset values.

If any of you have never looked at the config.cfg file, it's one of the few config files that actually use menu items rather than code values such as zero or one. I just changed the start value to files rather than wps and it did the trick. It saved me having to run through all of the menus to set code page and all of the other variables.

Thanks,

Tom
