"no sansa found"

<< < (5/6) > >>

Baseplate:
I'm having the exact same issues as Fate. My e280 arrived today from Newegg and according to the Info tab, it's a v01.02.18A. Based on what I've found in this and other forums, that's an e280 and NOT an e280R.

I've made sure to switch to MSC mode, and drive G:\ is the main Sansa drive on my system. I've told the Utility it's a Sansa e200 series and pointed it to G:\ , but I still get the message "No Sansa found".

Fate: Any luck with your situation?

[Edit]
I've downloaded Sansapatcher and it seems to recognize the device.

As I'm new to the whole Rockbox thing, I'm reluctant to proceed because I'd hate to brick this new player. I think I'll spend a little more time going through the Sansa documentation and the manual installation steps before going further.

Anything else I should be aware of?

[Edit #2]
My curiosity got the best of me. Sansapatcher ran fine and I installed RB manually with no issues.  ;D

ok my ubuntu 7.10 works fine now...new results soon

--- Code: ---fdisk -l > disks.txt
--- End code ---

What does that command do?

Actually, I bet it does. You just need a freakin' microscope to view it. At least on the back of mine, it says model: e280v2 . Its just that the v2 is  very small text that my 43-yr-old eyes are having problems with.

look at the pictures, there is no v2, my 18 year old eyes have no need for a microscope...
