iRiver H340 boots to iRiver firmware when on external power

Hi - Just loaded RB today (thanks!) and the iRiver firmware loads automatically (when I hit power on) if it's plugged in for external power.  

Any suggestions on how to avoid this?

Multiplex:
The iRiver firmware allways starts and shows its charging scfreen if you plug in the power while the unit is switched off.

I try to remember to start Rockbox beofre plugging the unit in for charge.
