Minimum Volume on iPod 80g

(1/1)

actuary286:
I have had Rockbox on my 80gig iPod for several months now and really like it, but have one problem.

The minimum volume before muting is -57db, but in quiet environments this is still quiet loud. Is there anyway to lower the minimum volume before muting (i.e. difference between the lowest setting and mute)?

Thanks,
Ryan

Llorean:
The minimum volume is the minimum analog volume. You can lower it further by adjusting the EQ Precut (and turning the EQ on) for an additional -24 that it can be lowered, but this is applied digitally.

That's what I do in my gigabeat, I put it about 10db louder than the quietest setting, then make the precut about -20db. That way it's quiet but I can still make it louder or quieter easily.
