ipod 3gen recording help

hi i've searched the forums and google, looking for help using rockbox to record using a 3rd generation ipod.

my problem is i installed rockbox hoping that i would be able to record, but after i install, i see no option of this on the firmware. i read the manual and it didn't say anything about recording... is this available on 3rd gen ipods? i i have been able to record using an old version of ipodlinux/podzilla...
