e250R and USB

(1/1)

First, yes, I'm trying to use USB booting from the original firmware, not with Rockbox running.

I have an e250R Sansa (Rhapsody version) and have installed Rockbox on it  acouple days ago, r15600M-0711, and since am having some weird USB problem. before installing Rockbox, I connected it to my iBook with OSX10.4 and it seemed to work fine. I did the Rhapsody firmware thing in Manufacturing mode on my PC, and then did the Rockbox isntall using the PC, from the rockbox zip file and the fonts zip file.

At first it didnt' seem to want to talk to anything over USB anymore (YES, booting to original software), nothing on the PC and nothing on the iBook. After some random fiddling, it seems to get recognized on my PC now, but the iBook still no longer recognizes it. The Sansa says it's connecting, but the iBook never comes up with a drive for it in Finder.

All my mp3s and stuff are on my Mac, and while I can get network drive sharing to work when I have time to fiddle with that and just use it from teh PC, I mostly use my iBook these days and it'd be nice to just use that. Any ideas as to what this could mean or how to fix it?

Sounds like something is wrong with your computer.

OK, but what should I lookm for? What could have changed in the half hour after it worked fine while I installed Rockbox using the PC? I didn't install any software on the Mac, I didn't do any updates, I didn't change anything there. I did change the Sansa. When things used to work but no longer do, I'm more likely to blame what changed that what is still the same. I'd appreciate any hints of what I should look for on the Mac.

First - sorry for responding to this old topic but i have the same problem with an e280 v1 on my Powerbook with OsX.
I dont belive that something is wrong with my machine because on my Gentoo-Linux Installation on the same computer i can mount the Device as usual.
Is there someone with higher OsX (BSD) -Knowledgement?
i'd like to know the equivalent for "fdsik -l /dev/sda" and  the mount /dev/***/ /*** command for OsX.
Regards.
