SanDisk Sansa c200 v2
Llorean:
Because you've done something else wrong. If you really had a V2, Rockbox would be unable to boot at all.

Not to be mean, Btwizt, but please spell check your posts before you submit them. Letters in awkward places makes it hard to read some of your posts.
If you want safe instructions on how to open a Sansa, try the AnythingbutiPod forums.

First off, [sarcasm] excuse me for trying to contribute but being in a hurry as i have other things to do.[/sarcasm]
And the V2 is Physically different (though only slightly) from the v1. The metal shield behind the battery is held in place and connected to the PCB via 4 plastic posts that have been melted down onto the shield. Im not willing to destroy my only MP3 player.

The best indicator seems to be the original firmware's version. On the c200s a firmware version of a v1 model has a number of 1.0x.xx and the v2 starts with 3.0x.xx. I *think* that the same applies to the e200 series (and it looks like a quick google confirms this).
Btwizt:
that is correct. As far as i know, both of the v1's firmwares are v1.xx.xx and the c200 v2 is v3.xx.xx and 3200 v2 is v4.xx.xx but anyhting other than v1.xx.xx is not a v1
JD24:
Hello,
i just want to ask if there are any pcb scans of the c200v2 available?
Thanks.
