Strong cryptography policy?
« on: November 15, 2007, 12:52:21 PM »
Does rockbox have a policy on the inclusion of strong cryptographic algorithms?  I am playing with writing a plugin which would use some or all of: AES, twofish, serpent, sha1/2, whirlpool, and other similar algorithms.  As some of you may know, there are some rather complicated and annoying legal considerations with some of these (which honestly I don't fully grok myself), so I felt it would be best to ask before I do all of the work only to find out it can't/won't be included regardless of quality.

For the curious, this would be originally for a password manager and generator, and possibly an encrypting archiver sometime in the future.

I can't imagine there being any objections, but the rockbox-devel mailing list is the place to ask these sorts of questions.

Thanks for the reply.  I will ask there when I get a chance.
