MozyMan:
Is it only the bootloader that changes on the ipod??
Just wondering as I was thinking of installing the Video/Classic Hack, and from what I have read, it is a just firmware replacement of the orignal OS on the iPod, and so if im correct, Rockbox and the bootloader should still work alright, yes??
Has anyone here tried installing the hack, specifically after already having Rockbox installed, and had any problems??
Did anyone have problems installing it before installing Rockbox??
Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this.
linuxstb:
What is the "Video/Classic Hack" you're talking about?
Also, I assume you're aware that the ipod video and the ipod classic are two completely different things?
MozyMan:
Yes, i know about the difference between an iPod Video and an iPod Classic.
The iPod Video/Classic hack is "a modified iPod Video firmware, changed to look as close as possible to the new iPod Classics." I wondered that would installing it affect Rockbox and/or the bootloader in any way. Â You can see it here - http://generaciondealcance.com/drivendesign/classic/. Â I believe it can also be found at http://ipodwizard.net
GodEater:
There was another post in this very forum about a week ago with someone who had managed to use that iPodWizard hack and install Rockbox at the same time. So have a search and see if you can find it.
MozyMan:
Oh yh Godeater, just found it, thanks.
One thing though, you say that you havn't heard of anyone successfully being able to use Rockbox with a hacked iPod with iPodWizard. Â Why's that?? Is it because of the files replaced on the ipod with Rockbox/iPodWizard or what??
