Why go Rockbox?

I always think that Rockbox gave Apple the kick up the arse they needed to implement gapless playback in the Original Firmware...

OK I got my F40 tonight. Getting ready to hook everything up to my computer. I'm just going to go straight to RB.
Can you guys tell me the first few steps I have to do to get things rolling.
I'm clueless with mp3 stuff so I appreciate any and all the help you guys give me!

Read the manual for your player. It shows how to install rockbox on it. Also you can check this page out

the Gigabeat F/X players are the EASIEST players to install rockbox on IMO.
